In a recent episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, the late-night host addressed NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ false accusations about him being associated with Jeffrey Epstein. Kimmel, known for his sharp wit and humor, didn’t hold back in his response.
Rodgers had made the allegations on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on ESPN, insinuating that Kimmel would appear in the then-unsealed court documents related to Epstein. Rodgers even went as far as to say that he would be celebrating if Kimmel’s name did appear on the list.
However, when the documents were released, Kimmel’s name was nowhere to be found. In his opening monologue, Kimmel clarified, ‘And then it did come out and, of course, my name isn’t on it … I don’t know Jeffrey Epstein, I’ve never met Jeffrey Epstein, I’m not on a list, I wasn’t on a plane or an island or anything ever.’
Kimmel continued his monologue with his signature humor, saying, ‘A lot of delusional people honestly believe I am meeting up with Tom Hanks and Oprah at Shakey’s once a week to eat pizza and drink the blood of children.’ He then addressed Rodgers directly, stating that either Rodgers truly believed Kimmel was on Epstein’s list, which he deemed ‘insane,’ or Rodgers was simply upset at Kimmel for making fun of him.
Kimmel ended his monologue by challenging Rodgers to apologize, promising that he would accept the apology and move on. However, he expressed doubt that Rodgers would do so, stating, ‘When I do get something wrong, which happens on rare occasions. you know what I do? I apologize for it, which is what Aaron Rodgers should do, which is what a decent person would do, but I bet he won’t.’
This incident is just the latest in a series of public spats between Kimmel and Rodgers, with Kimmel previously criticizing Rodgers for his comments on Covid shots and his belief in UFOs. Despite the serious nature of the accusations, Kimmel managed to handle the situation with his usual humor and grace, proving once again why he is one of the most beloved figures in late-night television.
